Goodmail Systems Appoints Industry Veteran David Atlas as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Atlas to Lead Strategic Global Marketing and Partnerships to Facilitate Increasing Adoption of CertifiedEmail Among Senders, ISPs and Consumers
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept 17, 2007 - Goodmail Systems, creator of CertifiedEmail™, the industry’s standard trusted class of email, today announced the appointment of industry veteran David Atlas to senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. In this position, Atlas, the former vice president of marketing at Goodmail, will now be responsible for leading the company’s global strategic marketing, sales, business development and partnership programs.
“David’s leadership of Goodmail’s marketing during the past year and a half has been critical in driving a terrific amount of marketplace adoption in a very short period of time,” said Daniel Dreymann, CEO and co-founder of Goodmail Systems. “With seven of the top 10 mailbox providers supporting CertifiedEmail as well as more than 400 commercial sending brands and 150 government agencies enrolled in the program, we approach the holiday season with CertifiedEmail poised to become a mass consumer phenomenon.”
As Goodmail’s vice president of marketing, Atlas oversaw all strategic marketing, sender recruitment and consumer education initiatives. He brings 20 years of diverse marketing, sales and business development experience with a wide range of emerging software products and services. Prior to joining Goodmail, Atlas served as the vice president of enterprise products for Connectix Corporation where he launched the company's Virtual Server product up through acquisition by Microsoft. Before that, Atlas worked as the executive vice president for home networking pioneer Alation Systems (now part of Cypress Semiconductor). Prior to this, Atlas worked in the email software industry for 10 years, most recently as vice president of marketing for Worldtalk Corporation (later acquired by Tumbleweed Communications). He was IDC’s first senior analyst for electronic mail and messaging, and also worked in product marketing on Lotus Notes.
“CertifiedEmail is a strategic marketer’s dream product, with a clear consumer need on one hand and a compelling sender value proposition on the other,” said Atlas. “It is the only system of its kind that simultaneously improves results for commercial email senders while visually marking known legitimate messages for consumers. I look forward to seeing CertifiedEmail become established as a consumer experience, benefiting consumers, senders and mailbox providers alike.”
