David Cowan

David joined Bessemer Venture Partners in 1992. He has since made 45 early-stage investments for Bessemer, including 19 that have gone public, and 18 that have been acquired by public companies. The first Forbes Midas List ranked David among the world's top 10 venture investors. David has invested in network technology (Ciena, P-Com), internet services (PSI-Net, Keynote, Flycast, Netli), and consumer internet (Hotjobs, Blue Nile). In 1995 he cofounded Verisign as a Bessemer-funded spinout of RSA, serving as VeriSign's initial Chairman; his other data security investments have included Counterpane (acq. by BT), Cyota (acquired by RSA), ON (acquired by Symantec), Postini (acquired by Google), Qualys, Tripwire, Tumbleweed, Valicert and Worldtalk (both of which Tumbleweed acquired after they went public). David currently serves on the boards of Billshrink, Delivery Agent, Flock, Lifelock, MashLogic, Nominum, Perimeter eSecurity, Sonic Mule, and Vimo. David received both his A.B. in math and computer science and his M.B.A. degrees from Harvard University.
Dixon R. Doll

Dr. Dixon Doll has influenced and guided entrepreneurs, investors and executives in the communications industry for more than 35 years. In 1996, he co-founded DCM, a Menlo Park, California-based technology venture capital firm with over $1.6 billion under management. Dixon has been named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 100 venture investors four years in a row. He served as National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) Chairman from 2008-2009. Dixon also chairs the Investment Committee of the Board at the University of San Francisco and is a Stanford Institute of Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) Advisory Board member.
Jason Green

Before co-founding Emergence Capital in 2004, Jason spent a decade in the venture business as a General Partner with U.S. Venture Partners and with Venrock Associates. Jason has invested in successful companies such as Salesforce.com (CRM), DoubleClick (DCLK), aQuantive (AQNT), Visual Networks (VNWK), Ask Jeeves (ASKJ) and SuccessFactors. Earlier in his career, he served as VP of Muzertechnika, the largest private computer and telecommunications company in Eastern Europe. He also served as a strategic consultant with Bain & Company in Boston and San Francisco and with the investment firm of Welsh, Carson, Anderson, and Stowe in New York. Jason was selected as the Charles Williams Fellow at Harvard's Graduate School of Business and is currently Chairman of the Kauffman Fellows Program, the leading educational fellowship in venture capital and is a founding Board member of Endeavor, a non-profit serving entrepreneurs in emerging markets. at Harvard and on the Steering Committee of the West Coast Research Center.
Matt Halprin

Matt leads Omidyar Network's Media, Markets & Transparency initiative, supporting technologies that promote transparency, accountability, and trust across media, markets, and government. In his role as Partner, Matt builds Omidyar Network’s team of investment professionals and works with portfolio organizations to help them succeed. Matt has more than 20 years of business experience, including six at eBay. As Vice President, Global Trust and Safety at eBay, he led a team of 90 statisticians, policy managers, and product managers to increase revenue while minimizing fraud and other trust-reducing behavior. Prior to eBay, Matt served as a Partner and Vice President at the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked with technology clients on issues of corporate strategy and corporate development. Peter Horan

Peter C. Horan was formerly CEO of IAC Media & Advertising. In this role, he oversaw IAC Advertising Solutions as well as Evite, Pronto, IAC Mobile and Ask Sponsored Listings. Mr. Horan previously served as CEO of AllBusiness.com, Inc. In this capacity, he was responsible for driving a fast-growing web media and e-commerce content business. Under his leadership, AllBusiness.com led the development of a completely new publishing platform for small businesses, while continuing to achieve accelerated site performance. Prior to that, Mr. Horan was CEO of About.com where he pioneered the company’s turnaround, turning it into the fastest growing large site on the web. He also led the sale of the property to the New York Times Company for $410 million in 2005. Prior to About.com, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of DevX.com, Inc., an Internet media company that was later acquired by JupiterMedia Corporation. Mr. Horan spent 10 years at International Data Group, a leading global technology media company, where he spearheaded relationships with top advertisers on a worldwide basis, and also served as Senior Vice President and Publisher of Computerworld. Prior to that Mr. Horan spent more than 15 years in senior account management roles at leading advertising agencies, including BBDO and Ogilvy & Mather.
Scott Kurnit

As Founder, Chairman, and CEO of About, Inc. he grew the company to a public market value exceeding $1.5 billion. Scott has many firsts to his credit, including four patents. Mike Perlis

Mr. Perlis joined SoftBank Capital in 2000 from SoftBank’s former subsidiary, Ziff-Davis. He has served as a media industry CEO with over 20 years experience managing a wide range of content and multi-media brands. Until its sale in 2000, Mr. Perlis was President and CEO of Ziff-Davis Publishing. He was responsible for the management of these pre-eminent technology publishing properties and related products worldwide. Mr. Perlis dramatically repositioned the core Ziff-Davis brands from a PC focus to an Internet-centric position. Before joining Ziff-Davis, Mr. Perlis was President at TVSM from 1996 to 1998, the largest publisher of customized television listings and guidance in print and on-line. He directed all strategy and operations, culminating in the sale of the company to NewsCorp. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Perlis was the President of the Playboy Publishing Group, overseeing all publishing and related product activity worldwide. The Playboy brand was actively exported overseas during these years, resulting in operations in 17 countries. He also was responsible for the launch of the Playboy new media initiative (playboy.com) and managed the company’s direct marketing businesses. Mr. Perlis was previously the Chairman and CEO of IDG Peterborough, Publisher of Gentlemen’s Quarterly and built the Rodale Active Sports Network (including the founding of Men’s Health & Women's Health, and the acquisition of Runner’s World). He began his career in media as the co-founder of New England Publications in Camden, Maine..
